Friday, July 27,2018

  • 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM Hotel check-in for participants
    • Lake Natoma Inn – participants can choose 1, 2, or 3 night stay. Check in at 3pm and checkout at 11am

  • 10:00 AM Registration Booth Open At Lake Natoma, Nimbus Flats
    • Registration packs available – race registration (cash only or paddle guru); race postcards will be on hand (and in their goody bags) to inform racers of the weekend’s activities
  • 11:00:00 AM – Noon
    Nor Cal Groms team paddle with Slater Trout
  • 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM Skills clinic with Slater Trout
  • 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM Skills clinic with Slater Trout
  • 4:30 PM-6:00 PM Welcome Paddle (intermediate & advanced paddlers only)
    • Led by Slater Trout- Participants will Launch at Negro Bar BOAT RAMP
    • SUP, kayak, OC- PFD and leash required. Free to all registered racers – registration is required.
    • $15 for all non racers and Rentals available from Adventure Sports located at Negro Bar beach
    • No kids since this may be too advanced
    • 6:30pm-8:30pm Welcome Party/Packet Pick-up at Heckle Alehouse

  • 7:30 AM – Race Day Registration Opens
  • 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM – Sponsor booth & spectator activities open
    • Welcome announcements & music start, Information booths, games with prizes, spectator education sessions
  • 08:00 AM – 08:45 AM – Practice the course (turns)
    • Try out the course before we get started!
  • 8:15:00 AM – 8:30 AM – Warm up and Stretch with Mike
  • 8:30 AM – 8:45 AM – Race Prep
    • Paddlers to get boards on the beach! Don’t be late!
  • 9:00 AM – 5 mile race begins – Approximately 1 1/2 – 2 hours in length | open to Stand Up Paddleboard, Kayak, and Outrigger | Slater Trout will also participate
    • Racers meeting – Review course (have large maps available), safety items- Explain # of laps and how to finish course. Racers need to put their race #s on with sharpies pen (eft front side)

  • 9:30 AM – 10:00 AM – Spectator Education – 2 great talks! Learn about the importance of Hydration while paddling; Also, learn about the importance of keeping all our waterways clean

  • 10:45 AM – 11:15 AM – SUP Pilates & Yoga
  • 11:00 AM – Lunch Pick up

  • Noon – 200M Sprint
    • Noon – Racers meeting

  • 1:15 PM – Pick and Paddle – We will be having a talk by some passionate paddler friends, Helen & Burleigh! They will remind us about the importance of waterway cleanup to keep our oceans free of litter. We will be provided buckets to help with a “Pick and Paddle” where we will giving prizes for the most trash collected!
